The mission of 3 Bluebirds Farm, an agritourism site, is to create an inclusive, environmentally sustainable agricultural community of choice in Raleigh, NC, where individuals on the autism spectrum can participate in farm activities with dignity, understanding and support.
Camp Bluebird Mission Statement
The mission of Camp Bluebird is to nurture each child on the autism spectrum as a whole: emotionally, socially, physically and intellectually; encouraging exploration and appreciation of the world around them while growing through play on a farm setting. We focus on three primary objectives: Social skills, play skills, and life skills.
Why a Farm?
The therapeutic benefits of life and work on a farm have been studied and documented for years. Along with its safer, quieter environment, and many opportunities for exercise, a farm gives individuals with autism a chance to do meaningful, purposeful work, which creates a sense of accomplishment. Additionally, farm work can easily be tailored to an individual’s interests and abilities.Â
